Single Cell Protein 65% Protein
Single-cell protein (Single-cell protein – SCP) is protein obtained from dry biomass of cells or extracted from microbial culture medium. Single-cell proteins are high in protein (60-80% of the cell’s dry mass), fats, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, vitamins and minerals. In addition, the amount of essential amino acids such as lysine and methionine in single-cell protein is similar to that in fishmeal, so single-cell protein is a worthy candidate as a raw material for aquatic food production.
